Strip steak takes on a whole new meaning in Stew Leonard’s all-natural meat line, branded Naked Beef because it is from Black Angus cattle that have never been given hormones, antibiotics or steroids, and are fed completely on grass and grain. The beef are raised at several Kansas ranches including the one shown in the video in Paradise, Kansas, in Russell county. These beef cattle are finished in Ellinwood at Barton County Feeders and other Kansas Feed Yards. They are then processed in Lexington, Nebraska, and sold in Stew Leonard's stores in Yonkers, New York, as well as Danbury, Norwalk, and Newington, Connecticut. Each Stew Leonard's Store does seven times the volume of the largest Dillon's Superstore in Kansas on a daily average. Available in strip steaks, rib eyes, porterhouse, tenderloin and sirloin cuts, as well as freshly ground, Naked Beef is guaranteed tender. In blind taste-tests conducted by Stew Leonard’s butchers and chefs, Naked Beef was the overwhelming hands-down winner, scoring the highest among national natural beef brands in terms of tenderness, juiciness, flavor and overall quality. ![]() The Leonard Family: Beth, Marianne, Stew Sr., Jill, Tom and Stew Jr. Barton County Feeders operator, Cap Proffitt said, “Stew Leonard has invited us out two different times to promote our beef under his ‘Naked Beef’ label. He also spoke at last year’s Kansas Livestock Convention in Wichita where he was presented with a sterling silver hand designed belt buckle and a gorgeous beaver cowboy hat which he sometimes wears in commercials on his Stew-Tube Videos." Barton County Feeders is proud to be a part of the effort to promote Kansas and its products and services.
